2010, 2011 & 2013 CLUB CHAMPIONS

U12 Queensland School Representative:
A Massive congratulations to BAILEY HOPE for his selection in the Qld U12 side.  Best of luck Bailey and remember that Brothers is always behind you.  Well done !!

U11 The Laurie Spina Shield Report:

Laurie Spina was the inaugural captain of the NQ Cowboys in 1995 after a 12 year career in the NSWRL playing halfback for North Sydney bears, Sydney Roosters, Cronulla Sharks and finally his hometown NQ Cowboys. 2014 is the 18th year of the under 11 carnival. 62 teams from all over Qld and 1 from NT played off in 8 pools over 2 days.  Brothers Toowoomba played Burdekin Roosters and drew 20-20 in their first game. With a half hour break Toowoomba Brothers played Upper Ross Rams and lost 20-12. Upper Ross ultimately went on to win our pool. Then brothers Toowoomba played Walkerston Wanderers and drew 12-12. Last game for the day Friday after a very hot day in Townsville, Toowoomba brothers played Cairns Brothers. The boys won 20-12. Incidentally the only loss for Cairns during the carnival. Another beautiful Townsville day and Toowoomba Brothers played Middlemount Panthers. The boys won 28-4. Last game against Tannum Boyne Seagulls. The boys won 8-0. A very positive and successful carnival for our under 11 boys. 3rd in our pool. Team. Cody Edmondstone, Jackson Brown, Will Blades, Nick Waters, Zavier Taion, Darcy Ramsey, Logan Charles, Bailey Gymore, James Scanlan, Brendon Eather, Kai Thompson, Jack Eyers, Nick Russell.

Well done
to all the Brothers teams whom have showed great sportsmanship, courage and determination throughout this season. You have done our club very proud. We now have a couple of week off to relax and enjoy the school holidays. We start back on the 19th of July at home to Oakey. Please see your coaches regarding training times through the holidays. During the season, can we all please be aware of the social media policy that the TJRL have implemented. It is extremely important that we abide by these rules as a club and have respect for everyone that is involved in Junior Rugby League.
***To all player's, please remember we have a very strict social media policy. If anyone if found to have written (or like) anything derogatory, obscene or discriminatory to another player, coach or official, club, ect, will front the judiciary and will be suspended for between 2 - 6 matches. So remember think before u do it!***

The Madsen Rasmussen Mid season finals on the weekend signalled the end of Round 1 in the TRL premiership.
On the paddock so far this year, all grades have struggled and have been in games they should have won!  A high injury toll (all grades) as well as players work commitments have impacted severely on Leprechauns available week in and week out…..but this is footy and our young men step up to challenge and give their all for the blue & whites !!  The 2nd half of the season should see players return to bolster the ranks…..
Also Brothers have been supporting our local Clydesdales Under 20 squad, with 6 players named in the final squad of 17, for last week’s game. They are Conor Nolan (19), Bill Squires (18), Lachlan Lee (18), Alex Rangiira (18), Tristan Hope (17) and Jarred Tuite (17).  All of these players played their Junior Footy with Brothers, with only some playing senior footy at Glenholme, before their call up. Both the Senior & Junior clubs are very proud of the achievements of these players and continue to offer their full support in the pursuit of their Rugby League dreams.  There are some names here that will be in the ranks of the NRL in the very near future!!
Off the field, the club and culture has continued to build. The club continues to train on the same nights (Wednesday and Friday) and this strategy has built a strong respect and brotherhood amongst players of all grades. Off the back of our injury toll and impact from work commitments, opportunity has presented itself to several players from 18’s through to Reserve Grade to make their debut in A Grade.  Our Friday night BBQ, Beers and watch the Footy after training is becoming an important weekly event for our players and coaching staff calendars.
Despite the challenges this year, our playing group remains strong and committed to each other. They are starting to gain knowledge of the history of the club and the players that were there before them, but we still have a ways to go…….but we need your HELP!!!  It would be great to start to see more OLD BOYS at the remaining home games this season, so not only support the club and its new player talent but importantly to impart their knowledge and HISTORY!!!  After the A Grade’s loss to Valleys, last week, it was great to see former stalwart and club legend Mark Barrett, come into the sheds at fulltime and speak with the boys…. THIS IS WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT and WHAT BEING A PLAYER FOR WHITES / BROTHERS is all about!!

We have been lucky so far this year to secure several club Junior games as well as schoolboy games. Not only has this emphasised the club support of Junior Rugby League in the local community, but it has provided us with an opportunity to promote and show off our club and facilities, plus highlight our sponsors to the wider community.

Bookings have also started to increase in respect to the use of the Senior Clubs hall and facilities, which is gaining positive comment and momentum. Spread the word, Glenholme is open for business…..

I would also like to again acknowledge our great sponsors and supporters for season 2014…
• Clive Berghofer Land Sales: A sponsor of Brothers for many years as well as many other sporting groups throughout the Toowoomba community. Thank you Clive

I look forward to seeing everyone there to support the Leprechauns !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
